“The obligation of those who have the ear of many is great. ”
Our Mission
A Song For Life provides artists with a common platform where they can come together to use their influence to advocate and speak out against senseless violence in our communities.
Our Goal Is…
to end the perception that violence is a problem that exists in a vacuum. Violence rears its head most in neighborhoods that are underresourced in terms of food, education & finance. Violence and its origins are intersectional—mental illness, food insecurity, poverty, education, and other factors are all directly linked to the epidemic of violence in communities all over the world. By highlighting & encouraging artists to use their platforms on a variety of fronts, A Song For Life is mobilizing a mass of artists & organizations to utilize the power of music to combat senseless violence on all fronts, including but not limited to mental health awareness, educational equality, food & agricultural education, and anti-bullying & anti-harassment.
A Song For Life, the organization & its work, is lovingly dedicated to the memory of Stephen Hewitt,
1964-1988
